Sad News: My Ceremonial First Pitch Series Is Ending

Remember this day? 5 months ago, when I was just a few weeks onto the job, I set out on a mission to throw out the first pitch at a Major League Baseball Game. And like everything in Northeast Ohio, it must be earned. I would have to throw out not just a First Pitch but a STRIKE at every level of baseball: Tee Ball, Coach Pitch, Kid Pitch, Travel Ball, High School, College, Independent League, Single A, Double A, Triple A, and then hopefully.....the Bigs.

Well, I spent the last 150 days driving across the midwest, taking me everywhere from Illinois to Wisconsin to Ohio to Indiana to Kentucky. And now, with baseball season winding down and football in full swing, I have some very sad news. The series is coming to an end. Here is my statement:

THAT'S RIGHT BABY! I'M MAKING MY MAJOR LEAGUE DEBUT ON SATURDAY NIGHT! Guardians vs. Rays. 6:10 ET start. 5:54 Ceremonial First Pitch. We did it!!!!

....and to all you haters that say ______ did it first, blow me. I made a plan, I worked my plan, and I'm throwing out the Ceremonial First Pitch for MY favorite team that I've been a fan of since the day I was born. I'm not letting anyone try and tear me down with this one. And let this be a lesson to the future of our country that hard work does in fact pay off. 6 months ago I was teaching 7th grade. Now I'm throwing out the 1st Pitch on a Saturday Night for the 1st place Cleveland Guardians. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!!!

*And after Saturday, I can finally get back to what everyone wants: more Ohio State / Michigan blogs Mintzy Madison.
