Good Times: US Soccer Completely Embarrassed Themselves With Another Low Point, The Same Day We Hired Mauricio Pochettino To Save The Team

It was supposed to be a good day. It was supposed to be an easy day. After a month Poch finally became our guy. Great hire. I stand by that and will fight it's a good hire unless he turns into Jurgen Klinsman. Not only did we finally lock down Pochettino to a 2-year deal through the World Cup, he talked about making history. HISTORY!

This team is talented. Correct there. Again, I will argue with you for days (minutes really on Twitter) that this team has talent. I don't think they can win a World Cup, I still have somewhat of a brain. But can they compete? Shit, we made the quarterfinals in 2002 and were robbed by a dumb ref of a goal and having a chance to move on to the semis. So, yeah, I think we can make a run in 2026.

But then this shit happened:

A tie against New Zealand. New fucking Zealand! In Cincinnati nonetheless! I don't care that we didn't have top guys playing. It's New Zealand. Not only was it New Zealand, it was a game that we had to win. We just got our shit kicked in by Canada, we failed tremendously at Copa America. Someone has to show some heart. I'll give Pulisic some credit there, he at least subbed on and scored.

Pepi was robbed of a goal on a soft foul call. It shouldn't matter though. You don't score 1 goal against New Zealand when you're a desperate team playing in a legit home game. You for sure don't give up a goal by KICKING IT OFF THE A DUDE'S FACE

We're at a low point. No other way to put it. It's no 2018. We didn't miss a World Cup or anything like that. But going back to Copa America, every positive outlook on this team, any growth of fans believing is all gone. At least Pulisic understands shit needs to change

Now Poch is taking over with a game in October against Panama in Austin. It needs to be a win. I can't stress this enough. I want to see our best guys out there. I want to see them actually caring and not going backwards like the last 5 months. I said it before, no more hiding behind a shit coach. It's time for guys to change the culture, change the mentality like Pulisic said. Please save us, Poch.
