The Film of Every Kirk Cousins Dropback Proves His Achilles Is Still in Bad Shape and the Falcons Might Be Fucked

Well, it turns out drafting Michael Penix might not have been the bad quarterback decision the Falcons made this off-season; signing Kirk Cousins was.

I mean, look at this guy. He can't move! Generally, it's throwing off your back foot that is seen as a negative for a quarterback. Well what about not being able to plant your back foot at all and throwing with the same power you'd be able to generate sitting down?

We all shold have seen this coming. Cousins is 36 years old coming off a major injury and was never a particularly mobile quarterback to begin with. Now he's a complete statue who's delivering the ball five yards short of his target because his back foot is as useful as an accordion player on a hunting trip.

It seems possible at this point the Falcons realized this was going to be an issue once they saw some of Cousins in the offseason and that's when drafting Penix became the plan. Now, that just means your medical evaluations are horrific and you're making $180 million decisions based off terrible information, but maybe that's better than the GM being a moron. I don't know.

I understand this was Kirk's first game back off the injury, but he didn't look like a guy that was anything close to 100 percent. And with the Eagles and Chiefs on the schedule the next two weeks, you can go ahead and pencil Atlanta in for an 0-3 record. If things don't turn around against the Bucs and Panthers in the two games after that, I'd be shocked if Michael Penix doesn't get his shot as a rookie. The money is already spent, so this experiment cant last forever.
