"Hating At This Age Is Crazy..." Mase And Cam'ron Shit On Jay Z And The NFL For Choosing Kendrick Lamar To Perform At This Year's Super Bowl Half Time Show

Correct, Mase, hating at this age IS crazy. Unfortunately for you, it's not just hating...it's business. Do I agree with the situation? Of course not, but I understand it. Why would Jay Z want to elevate an artist who has an active interest in taking down one of his own? Why would he risk Drake getting out there and saying something that fucks up his brand/image/income? He wouldn't. Here's his reasoning for choosing Kendrick Lamar as this year's half time performer...

“Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer,” JAY-Z said of the 17-time Grammy Award winner. “His deep love for Hip-Hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”

Bo-rinnggggggg...and untrue. At least the "once in a generation artist" part. That's Lil Wayne. Also, how does Jay Z have this much power? I know that Roc Nation entered into a general partnership with the NFL in 2019, but allowing him to blindly pick halftime performers is insane and this proves it. He chose a rapper from Compton, CA who performed during the 2022 halftime show over a legendary New Orleans local who was who wanted to perform so bad he was "praying for a phone call" from the league.

Dante broke down the entire saga below...

TLDR: no one in the hip hop community agrees with the situation, especially Nicki Minaj who went off on Twitter. Oh well. For the time being I guess we're stuck with Kendrick Lamar. Fingers crossed the league and Jay Z come to their senses.
