We Got Our First Scorigami Of The Season Thanks To Garbage Time Points On Monday Night Football

We did it, folks. We really did it. Week 1 of the 2024 NFL Season wrapped up on Monday Night, and despite an immense amount of hype entering the game, the contest didn't end up being too competitive.

The 49ers beat the Jets, 32-19, and the winner was never really in doubt. Jake Moody nailed his sixth(!) field goal late in the 4th quarter, New York pulled Aaron Rodgers, and backup Tyrod Taylor entered the game. With not much at stake, the Jets scored a touchdown...

After this, NYJ went for two, because... why not? And they failed. That would bring us to a 32-19 score, which gave us our first SCORIGAMI of the year!

Just a glorious way to end the opening week of what will be a tremendous football season. Those of us who stayed awake in a blowout were rewarded with this fantastic treat.

Scorigami (noun) - Scorigami is a concept thought up by Jon Bois. It is the art of building final scores that have never happened before in NFL history. Due to the unique nature of how points are scored in (American) Football, where it is impossible to score 1 point on its own, as well as the rarity of the 2 point safety and 8 point touchdown and 2 point conversion, there are a lot of scores that are possible, but have never happened.
