Top 100 Golfer Mark Hubbard Had No Choice But To Play In Today's Monday Qualifier After He Forgot To Sign Up For A Tournament On The PGA TOUR Website Before The Deadline

This isn't a story you see every day. Just three weeks ago, Mark Hubbard was teeing it up in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, after having a solid season and finishing inside the top 70 in the TOUR standings.

Yet here we are, getting ready to begin the FedEx Cup Fall Season, and Hubbard is... playing in a Monday qualifier?! How does that make sense?!

Well, according to the popular Twitter account, Monday Q Info, Hubbard realized he never signed up for this week's Procore Championship in Napa on the PGA TOUR website. The rules state that you must commit by 5 ET on Sunday, and when Hubbard realized at 5:20 that he missed the deadline, it was too late.

So, what does the San Jose State product have to do now in order to play this week? Get through the Monday qualifier. That's right, one of the top 100 players in the world is going to tee it up against a bunch of guys who are nowhere near his level for the few spots still up for grabs in this tournament.

This is a guy who played in two of the four majors this year, THE PLAYERS, and plenty of other big tournaments. Yet here he is on this Monday afternoon, trying to put up a score low enough to qualify for this week's tournament… all because he forgot to sign up in time. Wild.
