Bryce Young Seems Determined To Prove To The World That The Panthers Made The Worst Trade In NFL History

We're into year two of Bryce Young's NFL career and let me tell ya, it ain't getting much better. In fact, it might have gotten worse? You want to talk about a guy who inspires zero confidence on the field? It's Bryce Young at QB for the Carolina Panthers. It's ugly.

The final stat line from Sunday? 13/30 161 yards 0 TD, 2 INT, and one garbage time rushing TD to cut the deficit to 37-10. It's bad. Real bad. And just as a quick recap, here's the haul the Ryan Poles and the Bears got back for Young's pick.

D.J. Moore

2023 1st (9th) which turned into Darnell Wright

2023 2nd (61st) which turned into Tyrique Stevenson

2024 1st (1st) - Caleb Williams

2025 2nd

Bastards were handed the keys to turning their franchise around on a silver platter.

It's one thing to give up a pick that led to Caleb Williams, but they also got multiple 2s AND DJ Moore. I mean how does that not go down as the worst trade in NFL history? Deshaun Watson might have something to say about that, but I don't know if he tops it. The contract does help swing it in his Watson's favor. They're in cap hell with that loser for years to come. If you ever need cheering up about your team, just dive into those two situations and you'll feel a lot better.

Young has played and started in 17 games so far in his career and doesn't really have one "special" moment to show you he was the number one pick in the draft. Sure he "lit up" Joe Barry's laugh out loud bad Packers' defense last year, but that was also the same unit that allowed Tommy DeVito to do whatever he wanted. After Week 7 that game against Green Bay was the only one where he eclipsed 200 yards passing as well as the only game where he threw more touchdowns than turnovers. He constantly looks overmatched and undersized for the position. I don't even know if this is a giant overreaction from his first game of the year. When it comes to his rookie class you've got CJ Stroud being CJ Stroud and Anthony Richardson at least showing tons of flashes of unbelievable talent. Bryce Young kinda just gets bullied and dominated non-stop with zero bright spots.

The only thing Bryce Young has going for him is that he's on the Panthers. Just look at the recent track record of QBs to go in and out of that franchise, only to find success on the other side of the tunnel. Baker Mayfield is fucking awesome. It's crazy to think he got to this point considering how low he got in Carolina. Sam Darnold was also on that team and considered an after thought. Looked pretty fucking good in Minnesota yesterday. Yes against the Giants, but did you see ANY of that in Carolina? Not a lick. So yeah maybe when Young moves on in a few years he finds life elsewhere and an opportunity to shine. Either way, Bryce Young has to show the NFL world something soon or we're looking at a really bad situation. The arrival of Dave Canales was supposed to be a dream come true for Young, but so far it's just a lot of the same. Ugly.
