The Bears Are Still The Bears And Somehow They're 1-0 To Start The Year

The more things change the more they stay same. We were all jacked to the tits to watch Caleb, Rome, Keenan, Swift, DJ, and Cole and in the end it was defense and special teams providing the scoring and making the difference. That was old school, miserable, Bears football on repeat since the beginning of time. Happy with the ending, but wish the plot was different.

We knew there would be bumps in the road for the offense. This wasn't a speed bump though. This was like backing up over the spikes leaving a rental car parking garage. Why wasn't Cole Kmet involved, especially after Keenan Allen seeming tweaked a muscle? The interior of the offensive line was a siv. Shelton might own the honors for worst Bears debut in the last several years.

The Bears need to get off to a hot start. They need to stay in the win column at the beginning of the year. An ugly win is still a win and you have to believe that the offense will come good eventually. The offense obviously got all the hype, but the Bears aren't a rebuild anymore. They are a complete team. Two phases were enough today.

The Bears aren't going to be lucky enough to have Will Levis give them games in the future. The team has to get better and fast because it's prime time in Houston tomorrow.

New show with Big Cat will be live at drive time tomorrow evening. We have a voicemail line.

PS: I did change the game
