Haason Reddick Is Now The Last NFL Holdout And Is In A Bizarre Stalemate With The Jets

Brandon Aiyuk. CeeDee Lamb. Trent Williams. Jordan Love. All back to camp after holding out for new contracts. All of those players were able to settle business with their teams and gets deals done. Then we even had this news today that Ja'Marr Chase is back in uniform.

So, with all of these guys back in camp...what the fuck is going on with Haason Reddick? It appears the Jets and him are in a bizarre stalemate. The Jets won't negotiate with Reddick until he shows up to the facility. Reddick won't show up to the facility until the Jets reach out to him.

Jesus Christ. The Jets need to just be the grown up in the room and break this nonsense. That's part of being the employer. Joe Douglas has been a decent GM but he's got to realize that you don't win anything in a stalemate. Just reach out to him. The NFL players don't get guaranteed contracts. You can give them this.

There's also the perspective that this is the Jets. This is a franchise that hasn't made the playoffs in over a DOZEN years. By all accounts, this is at least a good team and could be great. Douglas and Robert Saleh's jobs could hang in the balance with this season. Stop the petty bullshit and get something done. You have to leave Florham Park with a cardboard box, no one will give a shit that you didn't let Reddick walk all over you.

It also seems like the money is there.

SOURCE - Field Yates of ESPN reports that they have also restructured the contracts of linebacker Quincy Williams and tight end Tyler Conklin. The moves clear $8 million in cap space this season by pushing the cap hits for both players into future years.

Reddick is now the last NFL holdout left. You have a 40 year old QB ready to go. The time is now. The season starts Monday against a very tough 49ers team in San Francisco. Jets need every man available for that one. Just swallow your pride Joe. Jets Nation is begging you.
