My Hot Take: The Houston Texans Will Not Make The Playoffs

Today is the day where everyone will probably bet the Texans because they believe in their hype. Do I think the Texans are going to be bad? Absolutely not, but they are going to regress. More tape is out on the Texans, they added a diva who needs the ball in Stefon Diggs, and so much more pressure is on them after an unbelievable 1st year by Stroud. The AFC is absolutely stacked and they are going to drop this first game to the Colts. Don't be so quick to fall in love with a team just because of one flashy seasons. It will be an up hill battle all year.

Let me tell you all about something called the Sophomore slump. Robert Griffin was Rookie of the year and his 2nd year he was the 23rd best quarterback in the NFL. We all know about Cam Newton's abysmal 2nd year. You can even go back to Dak Prescott's 2nd year. His first year he had 4 interceptions and he more than tripled that in his second year. You have to acknowledge that this is a thing and these teams are going to know how to play CJ Stroud a little better this year.

I know I said it above but I think it's harder for a quarterback to have a wide receiver who is good but needs the ball all the time and will make your life hell if he doesn't get what he wants. There is a reason why two teams let him go because if you look at his numbers you would think they are insane but he ruins the flow of the offense. This loaded Texans team does not make the playoffs, you'll see.
