'Like I Forgot How To Fucking Play Football?' - Stefon Diggs Finally Admitted He Wasn't Having Fun, Needed To Leave Buffalo After His Stats Declined Last Year

[Source] - Last season, Diggs started off the season in Buffalo hot, with more than 100 receiving yards in five of his first six games. But he didn’t go over 100 yards—and he notched only two scores—for the rest of the season. If it didn’t look like Diggs was having fun that’s because, well, he wasn’t. “Last year, I was in the worst mental space I’ve been in since I’ve been in the league,” Diggs says. “If I'm not in a good space, obviously that's not the best for me. So that's when things had to start shaking out.”

“The games looked a lot different,” he says. “You can blame me. I don’t mind blaming me. I got big-ass shoulders. But pay attention, pay real close attention. Watch the game. Of course there’s plenty of plays I want back. But there’s a lot of plays that didn’t go my way. I need a lot of things to go right to get the ball…. You can't roll out of bed and get 800 yards in the first eight games. Your best receiver’s doing that. You tell me about the last 10. What changed? Were there changes going on? I just pay attention to what really happened and not what people try to act like happened. Like, for the last 10 games, I forgot how to fucking play football?”

I can admit I find Stefon Diggs fascinating. His whole career, story, whatever is fascinating. Dude has been a damn good receiver, 'forced' his way out of Minnesota and now Buffalo. But he's at least admitting it. That's something that we don't see a lot of and frankly he does it in a smart way. I mean it's not like I care, I'm not a Bills or Texans fan. I want to see how Diggs looks in a Texans offense that is supposed to be good after catching everyone by surprise a year ago.

He even admits he's not going to say anything negative about the Bills, but he's not in some sort of fight with Josh Allen like people kept talking about. He's just a wide receiver. Wide receivers are lunatics, who think they are open basically every play and want the ball. When the OC change happened, he wasn't getting the ball. Time to find somewhere new and it's one of those situations where it's probably better for both. Yeah, the Bills need to find a WR1, you don't just lose a Stefon Diggs and think everything is fine. But the divorce had to happen. You don't just stay together to celebrate the holidays and then go back to being miserable.

Of course there's the argument with him in Houston and surrounded by Nico Collins and Tank Dell will he have the stats? Part of it is the new feeling and that can mask being pissed. Same with winning. If the Texans win, we probably hear a different story. But like Diggs said, he had 800+ yards in 8 games, then what? Yeah an OC change happens, but you still had a good receiver out there. For a guy who wanted out of Buffalo, he finally got his wish.
