Oklahoma's Entire Stadium Singing Toby Keith's 'Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue' Before The 4th Quarter Last Night Was Flat Out Awesome

I blogged this earlier in the week, a new tradition of sorts at Oklahoma. They want to honor a legendary fan, legendary musician in Toby Keith. Smart. Like I said, he was the celebrity face of Oklahoma athletics, not just football. Dude was everywhere and truly loved Oklahoma. So last night they broke out the first sing-along.

Don't hate the decision at all. The entire crowd being able to yell 'we'll put a boot in your ass' is what college football is all about. Sure, it was Temple, but you gotta build up for the SEC games. Can't walk into SEC play cold and rusty in year 1, that's a recipe for disaster. Now I do wonder if they switch up the song each game, you gotta figure out what gets the crowd going. Think Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue plays so you gotta stick with it. I still would have went with Beer for my Horses just because that song is a little more upbeat and has Willie.

This is college football though. You get an entire crowd into something and run with it. I know it's weird calling it a 'tradition' when it just started, but this has the ability to be Florida/Tom Petty. As much as I hate Florida, it rules when they break out the cell phones and sing Petty. All I know is this lived up to the hype. Turn down the music a little bit, let the crowd really get into it and make sure you yell the boot up your ass part. RIP Toby.
