OUR LONG NATIONAL NIGHTMARE IS OVER! BRANDON AIYUK HAS SIGNED A 4 YEAR EXTENSION WITH THE 49ERS!!!

Let me speak for all of America when I say thank the motherfucking Lord that is over.

Like most people that aren't fans of the Niners or their rivals, I never had much of an opinion of Brandon Aiyuk outside of him being a very good football player. Yet somehow, he hijacked this crazy 24/7 media cycle we live in by having trades to multiple teams land at the stage where it seemed like both sides just had to hit X to make the trade official. Patriots, Browns, and Steelers fans are all shaking their heads while the Commanders had their fancy new rookie basically becoming a character in the saga since his old ass was teammates with Aiyuk at Arizona State back when he was a freshman roughly 10 years ago.

However all that ended today when Aiyuk agreed to an extension for $30 million per year, which was reportedly around his asking point from the jump.

Some will say the NFL season starting in a week caused this stalemate to end, while others will say cooler heads prevailed after weeks of tense negotiations. However I personally believe that Aiyuk finally sat down, realized he was signing for an absurd amount of money wherever he went, then took one last hard look at who was named QB1 for the Steelers this week.

If the safe haven of Kyle Shanahan's offense that can turn Mr. Irrelevant into an MVP candidate on the cusp of a Super Bowl title isn't enough to keep you out of Pittsburgh, the specter of being around Mr. Unlimited will. So congrats to Brandon, his agent, and the 49ers on agreeing to a deal. But most of all, congrats to all of us for never having to hear another Rapsheet or Schefty report about them again, at least until Aiyuk feels he's underpaid in a year or two.
