The VMAs Have Been Rescheduled To 9/11 So They Won't Clash With The Presidential Debate

Interesting day choice, I'll say that! Especially considering it's being HOSTED in New York. I know that it's been 23 years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, but as we all know, you never forget. The day brings a certain amount of reflection, honor and sadness to it that I'm not quite sure needs to be overshadowed by a music awards show, but who am I? If the powers that be tell us to get over it, I guess we're just going to get over it? I completely understand the choice to move the date of the VMAs in the first place - scheduling it on the same night as the presidential debate not only feels inappropriate, but also dumb. These candidates want EXACTLY the demo watching the VMAs to be watching the debate and further, out at the polls, so we all knew that was never going to work. But to move it to 9/11? Were there really no other dates available?

So far the response is exactly as expected:

I'm just not sure what anyone was thinking with this! Maybe it won't be a big deal at all. It certainly feels uncouth, borderline disrespectful, but again, who am I? I guess they do all of the 9/11 tributes in the morning? Past 8pm we don't have to think about all of the lives that were taken from people by terrorists? Who knows. I'll be watching the VMAs of course, but I'll definitely be thinking about 9/11 the entire time. Whether they want me to or not. I never forget.
