National Hero Nikola Jokic's Homecoming Celebration In Serbia Looks Absolutely Insane

Sure they may have "only" won the Bronze medal, but it's safe to say Nikola Jokic and Serbia had a pretty successful time in Paris. On the court, Jokic finished on the All First Team after leading the entire Olympic field in points, rebounds, assists, and steals while also putting up a triple-double in his final game which is something that's only happened 5 times in Olympic Men's Basketball history

which all adds up to a pretty decent run if you ask me. Then off the court, we saw Jokic be perhaps the happiest he's ever been after a basketball game, and that includes immediately following winning the NBA title

It shouldn't come as a surprise that a lot of these international superstars care way more about their national team than their NBA team, especially someone like Jokic. He can't get out of the country and back to Serbia fast enough so he can go watch his horses as soon as the NBA season ends. Remember, this was the first thing on his mind just minutes after winning his title

Well one look at his homecoming celebration after this Olympic Bronze medal run and you can understand why

I mean, that's incredible. However big the Nuggets parade was and however excited those fans were, that doesn't come close to this and you know what? It's completely justified. This is exactly how you should be celebrating Nikola Jokic and his basketball brilliance. We'll probably never see a player like him again, and as the best player in the world and obvious national hero, I wouldn't expect anything less from this crowd. Remember, only in the US is anything outside of a Gold Medal a disaster. For the rest of the world? Medaling at all is a huge deal.

The look on Jokic's face says it all. I can only imagine what it feels like to watch an entire country show you love like this, I imagine it's about as surreal as it gets. For a guy who some out there claim is "boring" and doesn't "have motion" whatever the hell that means, uhhhhhhhh I suggest you watch that video again.
