A Great American: Kevin Durant Won Gold, Immediately Mocked Dennis Schroder For Claiming Europeans Have An Advantage With 'Straight IQ Basketball'

I don't know how we got to this point of screaming that European basketball has it all figured out. The way people talk about European basketball makes it sound like we lose a handful of games each cycle. We've lost 4 times in the Olympics since 1992 - 3 of which was the 2004 disaster. Blame Larry Brown and his lineup decisions. You wanna say they play different? That's fine. It's true. But let's not act like it's 'better' when the results say the US still has the best players on the planet. It's a different style of game, with different motion, but again, not necessarily better when you look at wins and losses.

So how does Kevin Durant handle listening to Dennis Schroder say this? The only way he knows how.

Allow Steven Cheah to handle my reaction to seeing this tweet

It really is the perfect tweet after hearing this team was going to choke, people making a big deal of exhibitions, all this other stuff about American basketball. Not on Kevin Durant's watch. Not when he became the most decorated Olympian for men's basketball. He's going to make fun of you, no matter who you are and no matter what time it is in Paris. I'd love to be around him when he decides this is the tweet to fire off and when he decides to do it.

This is what I want from Team USA basketball too. Win gold, talk shit, piss off the world, celebrate however you want. For as much shit as we give Steve Kerr he said one correct thing. We're the only country in the world where a silver medal is an embarrassment in men's basketball. Do your job and remind the world we're still the best in basketball. You can say the gap is closing but when we have our best out there we're going to win. Hell, even when we don't we still are winning. Entertainment and IQ.
