Fyre Fest Of The Summer: George Mason's Basketball Team Was Apparently Scammed Out Of Their Bahamas Trip, Found Out The Day It Was Supposed To Start
Alright, a little backstory here. College basketball teams will often take a summer trip - Bahamas, Europe, Canada, etc. They are allowed to every few years, play some random teams, get a chance to play more together in the offseason. George Mason was one of those teams this year with a trip to the Bahamas scheduled.
Well, except one little thing here. They were apparently scammed out of the whole thing with Trilly being first on it all.
You get the point. The rumor is basically George Mason showed up, pumped to go to the Bahamas. Enjoy a vacation, get some games in, bonding, all that good stuff. Show up to the airport and find out there are no flights for them. That's usually a problem. I know everyone has flight problems these days, so maybe you chalk it up to that. Then you find out there are no games or a hotel. Yeah, that sure seems like a scam! Same with the fact the group who organized it all turned comments off. You don't want A-10 Twitter in your mentions if you fuck up/scam someone (allegedly). You don't want A-10 Twitter in your mentions if you say something average about the conference. They are ruthless and are desperate to be named with the Big East in terms of lunacy.

I don't know how you can feel good about George Mason basketball heading into the season now. This is all I will be thinking about. Want to pick them to win a game? They got scammed (allegedly). Think they can make a run at the A-10 Tournament? Gotta wonder if they have hotel rooms booked. I don't even know how this happens. I take pride in never being scammed (yet, at least) so how a team who made a Final Four after the year 2000 got allegedly scammed is beyond me.
