One Year Ago Dave Portnoy Bought Barstool Back for $1 From PENN Gaming & Re-Hired Me!

Hard to believe it was 365 days ago that Dave Portnoy pulled off one of the best deals in business history buying Barstool Sports back for $1 from PENN Gaming!

I remember it like it was yesterday driving I-20 between Shreveport and my hometown of Monroe, Louisiana with Wake Up Mintzy Producer Tyler Moody. I got a phone call from a buddy of mine in Baton Rouge that he saw on CNBC the news Dave was buying Barstool back. He asked if I was getting re-hired and I said I damn sure hope so!

Well it turns out I missed the phone call from the boss man while I was on the other line. I called Dave to get the great news that I was BACK AT THE STOOL after 3 months of selling Brick Watches! My time away from Barstool ended up lasting from May 3rd to August 8th 2023.

I drove to New Orleans that night and flew to Chicago the next day to hop on The Yak. Big Cat & Hank talked me into moving to Chicago to work in the new office and here we are one year later!
