The Canadian Eagle Won Over Bears Fans Hearts On Hard Knocks And Then Promptly Ripped Them Out

Former CFL offensive lineman Theo Benedet busted into Chicagoan's lives tonight on Hard Knocks with a musical performance so strong that it would've made the late, great Toby Keith blush. As you can see he then gave us the cherry on top when he brazenly ripped off his pants to reveal a bald eagle covering his nugget.

It was the funnest moment of episode one and the 'Canadian Eagle' was destined to be the Devin Cajuste of this season, only to have it then be revealed that he suffered a Grade 2 hamstring strain during the Hall of Fame game last week. Just an absolute kick in the dick to what was setting up to be a fun storyline.

Aside from that though I may be in the minority that wasn't super impressed by the first episode. It was fine, but nothing really got me going outside of Eberflus and Saban talking about Caleb, the Blues Brothers/Ray Clay intro, and DJ Moore signing his extension.

I get that they had to set the stage with the national audience through storylines like Eberflus' glow up and Owens/Biles relationship, but as a Bears fan who's well aware of that stuff I really wanted to see more brass tacks like anything about the defense outside of Jaylon Johnson driving a weird car, the most intriguing wide receiver room in the NFL, and what's going on with our offensive line.

I'm sure we'll get to all of this, but that's just my takeaway one-fifth of the way through.
