So in case you somehow missed this yesterday, Luana Alonso was allegedly kicked out of Olympic Village by Paraguay:

[Source] - “I just wanted to make it clear that I was never removed or expelled from anywhere, stop spreading false information,” Alonso posted in her Instagram Stories in Spanish, according to the Daily Beast.

“I don’t want to give any statement but I’m not going to let lies affect me either.”

LIARS! At least that's the story she's going with. I'll tell you what, I'm obsessed with these Olympics. Sure, the sports have been entertaining and it's on in the middle of the day which is true prime time as a blogger who works from home. But the fact we're getting drama and controversy every single day makes it feels like the Olympics. Whether it's Olympic Village sucking, lack of food, a German runner getting pissed that Alica Schmidt got selected and now Luana Alonso, we're getting a little bit of everything.

You can click her Instagram and see her story there. Here's a picture to click since I'm a pal:

I love the move to turn the whole story around. Don't let Paraguay come out and say they kicked you out. Don't let the rumors of a trip to Disneyland or that you were causing an 'inappropriate atmosphere' dominate the headlines. No you take to Instagram and you release a statement on your own. Don't you dare do it any other way. It's 2024 and this is a college athlete. You don't notes app it, you don't hire PR, you go to Instagram. I would have made it a post too, but I'm an old man this day in age.

I don't blame her either. She's got everyone making jokes about her for a day plus the whole retirement thing right after not making the Finals. You gotta step in and control the narrative on your own at some point. Big win for the Internet to fire off jokes for a day and then get a little bit of drama going.

Classic case of she said/she said though. Paraguay says they kicked her out and she left with no problem, Alonso says it's not the case at all. A real whodunit.
