USA! NOAH LYLES WINS ARGUABLY GREATEST & CLOSEST 100M IN OLYMPICS HISTORY!

HOLY SHIT NOAH LYLES DID IT.

I can barely breathe while typing this, I'm shaking from that race.

The torso that crosses first wins Gold, and Noah Lyles sneaks through to make history, giving the United States its first Men's 100m Gold since Justin Gatlin at Athens 2004. The overhead shot is wild...

Take a look at the margin…

Imagine running the same time on the scoreboard as the guy who wins the Gold Medal, and you win Silver. That has to be gut-wrenching for Kishane Thompson. The final margin was FIVE HUNDRETHS OF A SECOND.

Which, by the way, Leigh Diffey, the announcer for NBC botched the call, because everyone at home thought Thompson won based on his quick call. It sure did look like Lyles snuck in, but when Diffey said Thompson won I was like, "uh, okay?" Tough one for Diffey, but he did redeem himself after once the photo finish was confirmed.

There aren't any videos of it yet, but intros in Paris were insane, and Noah Lyles came out running on the track, screaming at the crowd, and pulling out more theatrics than this moment…

To go out there and then win Gold like he did is fucking so badass that I can barely wrap my mind around it.

Noah Lyles will start hitting the track over the next few days for the 200m (his better race!), as he looks to join the likes of Usain Bolt & Carl Lewis in winning the double at the Olympics.

Also, shoutout to Fred Kerley who took home Bronze, his second straight Men's 100m at the Olympics with a medal.

Wow…

Go USA go!
