Being an Unpaid Assistant Coach & Hitting Instructor for a High School Baseball Team Seemed Like a Great Idea. Turns Out it Wasn't Just Another Day at the Beach... (UPDATED)

While I write the last couple of chapters of my high school baseball blog series, here are all the chapters that have been published so far.

I apologize for the two-week lapse. I had to call 911 and rush my wife by ambulance to the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. After two long days in a crowded ER, we got a room in the hospital. Overall, I stayed there for 14 days straight, consulting IR, ID, and GI doctors and Oncologists while helping nurses and PCAs in any way I could. I spent nights on a chair by my wife's side. When she was feeling better, I went home, shaved, showered, changed my clothes, and posted Chapter 8, which was on my computer awaiting final editing when I made the 11:00 pm call…

After 17 days in the hospital, my wife was discharged yesterday afternoon, and we're finally home. I'm back to being her caregiver, a full-time job I take very seriously.

But don't let my personal drama prevent you from catching up on this blog series. It's all here for you. Enjoy!

It turns out the only thing that's a day at the beach is… a day at the beach. Here's my favorite beach song, Wipeout, covered incredibly by Sina with her dad on guitar. The '60s hit is very fitting, given how my high school baseball coaching experience went… (She's so fucking good!)
