Have to Respect The Audacity of The ACC For Laying Claim to Katie Ledecky's Medals Because She Swam at Stanford

Hat tip to the Atlantic Coast Conference. Hat tip to whoever runs the Atlantic Coast Conference's social media. When they crafted this tweet, they knew full well what the reaction would be. Everybody is already sad that conference realignment killed the PAC-12. That moving forward, the ACC will get to take credit for any and all achievements accomplished by the California schools of Stanford and Cal. But I'm not sure people considered how the ACC would be laying claim to their entire history as well.

A hilarious case of stolen valor. The worst case of stolen valor since Billy Football went to the airport.

The ACC doesn't have to do that. They're really not gaining anything from it. They're really just rubbing salt in the wound of an already dead body. But I guess this is what we're doing now. The PAC-12 is dead. Their former athletes accomplishes no longer belong to them. It's not just the ACC schools either. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention French swimming great, 3x gold medalist, Arizona State alumni and BIG-12 legend Leon Marchand.

I'm sure these are just the first in a long line of conferences taking credit for history that has absolutely nothing to do with them. I'm looking forward to seeing how shameless they get. I can't wait until football season we the ACC reminds us of the greatest moment in ACC football history.

And when the the BIG-10 trots out BIG-10 legend Reggie Bush. Or calls dibs on John Wooden & UCLA's 11 National Championships. Who could forget the classic BIG-10/SEC clash in the 2006 Rose Bowl. Poor PAC-12. The body isn't even cold. The least they could do is throw a little (credit: PAC-12) in the bottom right hand corner of the picture. But nope. Apparently that wasn't part of the deal.
