There Is Currently A Curse In Philadelphia That Needs To Be Broken Immediately

Giphy Images.
First it was the Eagles with one of the most disastrous, mystifying collapses from any team in sports history. Then it was the Flyers someway, somehow missing the playoffs. Following that it was Embiid shredding his shit midseason for the Sixers. You can easily throw the Union crapping themselves in there, as well. And now we have the 1st place Philadelphia Phillies losing 5 straight series dating back to right before the All-Star Break - A's, Pirates, Twins, Guardians, and Yankess. The Almighty Second Half Curse is for some reason upon us all.

And now we stop the shit right in the tracks. Look, every solid MLB team doesn't slay through 162 games without a rough patch. This season, especially. The Yankees just had a stretch run of supreme shit before they came to Philly. Just a month ago this Phillies team was projected to compete with the'01 Mariners for the most regular season wins of all-time (wasn't ever going to be a realistic pace but it was there for a hot minute). Now some Fightins faithful are shaking in their ballsacks because of a rough stretch. Keep it in the pants, people. This team still has the best record in baseball and will be in the postseason contending for a title. Could Dom have done more at the trade deadline to truly make this a super squad? Of course. But he filled the gaps to make this team complete. And, frankly, it don't matter who the Phillies added at the trade deadline, if the core produces like they have been since before the ASG then this team ain't gonna win dick, anyways.

Ew. Those numbers are exactly the reason for this little slide, but at least they are aware of it.

We've broken these types of supernatural anomalies in the past that only could've originated from the Devil himself: The Curse Of Billy Penn. 50+ year Super Bowl drought. Al Horford's contract.  So let's buckle down and get things right starting today for some Business Person's Special 12:35 day action vs. the Yankees. Can't get swept by a team you might be facing in the Fall Classic. Let's get a little momentum back and start cruising towards Red October. Please.

Or judging by the starting lineup today, maybe not ? Christopher Sanchez has gonna need to be on his 6 IP, 2 ER stuff today.
