Jaylen Brown Called Out Grant Hill For Suggesting He's A Conspiracy Theorist When It Came To His Team USA Snub

What, you thought just because it's been a few weeks and Team USA is about to tip off their first game of the Olympics today that it meant Jaylen Brown was done taking his shots? Don't be silly

I'll admit, when I saw this come across my timeline this morning I was a bit confused. I thought we had closed the book on this whole ordeal a few weeks ago when Jaylen made his stance clear while in Vegas

At this point I think pretty much everyone agrees that there was something more at play than just a "basketball decision" so why is this coming up now?

Ahhh yes, that's probably why. As you can see, Grant Hill is using his prepared "basketball reasons" angle. It's the easiest thing to do because in some ways nothing he says is wrong from a basketball standpoint. It's a little confusing when he says we have a "logjam at the 4" when you know, Kawhi was on the roster to begin with, and that "logjam" didn't seem to be a problem then, but I digress.

I think you're a little naive if you don't think there was any involvement from Nike or other outside powers aside from "basketball reasons" as to why Jaylen was left off, even if the "basketball reasons" in theory make some level of sense. I'm pretty sure Jaylen wouldn't go on this type of tirade about Nike/Grant Hill if that were the case, and I dunno something about Hill immediately playing the conspiracy theory card to makes it seem more like Jaylen is on the money. Maybe that means I'm a conspiracy theorist? I just feel like you don't play that card unless there's some truth to what's being said, but what do I know?

Either way, it doesn't appear that Jaylen is over this snub or his beef with Grant Hill/Team USA, and why would he be? You can still be happy for your teammates and want Team USA to thrive while also having issues with the selection process and Grant Hill. Jaylen said more will come out over time, but in my opinion just rip the bandaid off and drop the hammer. Less talk about how you've been a VP since you were 21 and more talk about how Nike orchestrated this whole thing. Let's put it all on the table and see how things look then.

In the meantime, Team USA has to lock in today against Serbia who will most likely be fairly motivated after their tune up game loss to the US. Don't play like assholes, move the ball, and rebound and things should get off to a good start in Paris.
