Taylor Swift Might Be Rereleasing Her Albums In The Same Order Of The Horcruxes In Harry Potter

Rumors are swirling yet again when it comes to Taylor Swift and her final re-recorded album release dates. The clowns have been on parade for months, trying to guess when we're going to get her Debut album (titled Taylor Swift) and even more highly anticipated (my personal favorite), Reputation album. For those who remember, when Taylor gave an interview with Time Magazine last December, there was a very important Harry Potter reference:

"She tells me about revisiting Reputation, which is perhaps the most charged era in the tour. “It’s a goth-punk moment of female rage at being gaslit by an entire social structure,” she says, laughing. “I think a lot of people see it and they’re just like, Sick snakes and strobe lights.” The upcoming vault tracks for Reputation will be “fire,” she promises. The rerecordings project feels like a mythical quest to her. “I’m collecting horcruxes,” she says. “I’m collecting infinity stones. Gandalf’s voice is in my head every time I put out a new one. For me, it is a movie now.”

Huh! Wow! I wonder who else thought Taylor would be good at collecting horcruxes?

Yea. Of course.

Anyway, this new theory came to light that Taylor may be matching her album re-release schedule up with the horcruxes from Harry Potter, and now have two remaining - her "name" (Debut album), and her reputation (snake related). As a Harry Potter freak, I've decided to dive deeper into this theory and see if its possible that we could be getting Debut and Reputation on this timeline. Let us dive in……

Tom Riddle's Diary - Fearless

I think this one is self explanatory. Sometimes the forgotten horcrux, as Harry destroyed it before he even knew he was on the hunt - a literal diary that Tom Riddle (Voldemort) preserved his memory in when he was 16/17. I'd say the entire Fearless album is set in that timeframe of Taylor's life, and it certainly reflects the kind of moodiness that one would find in the desperate ass diary Tom Riddle poured his heart and soul into.

Marvolo Gaunt's Ring - Red

To start with the obvious, featured very prominently on the new cover, Taylor even went as far as to sell a "Red" ring for fans.

The ring itself got absolutely zero shine in the movies, but in the books we get more details. The ring belonged to the Marvolo family (Voldemort's mother, to be exact) and he went back to claim it so he could turn it into a horcrux. As far as matching it up with the album, that's a little trickier if we go deeper than "there's a ring on the cover." However, we do have the infamous "I knew you were trouble" (clearly) as well as the All Too Well 10 minute version, which is basically the same amount of time they spent talking about this ring in the movies. I say, ITS A MATCH!

Slytherin's Locket - Speak Now

This one to me, almost fits the best. The locket gets a LOT of play in both the books and the movies, turning everyone wearing it into a monsterous version of themselves. Speak Now was entirely written by Taylor herself, and features a ton of tracks where we could consider her "angry" or "looking for revenge." The locket does all of the above. It also has that castles/royalty "locked in" feel, as the album does.

Hufflepuff's Cup - 1989

Another zinger. Cups??? During 1989 Taylor was notoriously out and about in New York City, drinking wine with her girls nonstop. Everyone also knows that Hufflepuff is the "kindest" house, more in it for the fun of life than fighting (with the exception of Cedric, of course. RIP.) 1989 as her first pop album, I think truly embodies that good-time Hufflepuff energy.

Ravenclaw's Diadem - TTPD?

Here's where things get tricky. It seems there is 1 more horcrux than albums available. OH NO! Could we slide TTPD into that slot? I don't think I'm in a space where I'm ready to start predicting some kind of surprise vault album before we get Debut/Rep. TTPD basically acted as that, and as a lot of the songs seem to be reminiscent of the past and have countless riffs from her entire discography, it could absolutely work.

It fits with the diadem (a crown,) Ravenclaws are of course intelligent, clever, thoughtful scholars and I'd say that reflects TTPD. I'd even go as far as to say it has the same gothic/dark academia feel we've come to associate with Hogwarts and especially Ravenclaw. I've convinced myself while writing all this - the verdict is in, we claim TTPD as its own horcrux.

Harry Potter - Taylor Swift

This one is self explanatory. However, important to note, Harry does in fact "kill" the piece of Voldemort inside of himself (by way of Voldy's hands) BEFORE we get to the snake. This brings the order of release into question. Additionally, these two horcruxes were destroyed about an hour apart. Maybe even less. Over at Taylor Watch we think that Debut will be allowed to have its own moment, but if we're sticking with the theme…..are we looking at a double drop??

Nagini the Snake - Reputation

Nothing else to say here but, duh. The snake = reputation. The big finale. The final scene where Neville (spoiler) chops its head off with the sword of Gryffindor is a truly iconic moment and I wouldn't be opposed to Taylor announcing the album this way. Give me another 15 second Youtube reel of Taylor reenacting that moment, and I'm in even more than I already was.

I think it's safe to assume that this is one of the more compelling theories I've heard in a while. Taylor herself making reference to it, being a Harry Potter fan, loving riddles and games, while also being a total freak when it comes to hints/clues/anything she can make more fun for her fans. I've been Rep clowning from the beginning, and if it does end up being this result, I will lose my mind. HPxTS FOR LIFE!!!!!!
