Everything Is Going Great: Jesse Marsch Wants No Part Of The USA Job, Calls Out How The US Soccer Federation Operates

If you want to say this is just Jesse Marsch throwing a temper tantrum because he got passed over for the USA job before, fine. Go ahead. What he said isn't wrong though. The fact they brought back Gregg Berhalter last time showed how much of a joke the US Soccer Federation has been - at least on the men's side. Of course our women's team has had a ton of success. That's not what we're talking about here. The way they operate on the men's side has Jesse Marsch - an American - saying he'll never coach for us unless there's a dramatic shift. Awesome. Exactly what you want to hear from one of your own.

I don't care if you didn't think Marsch's style will work or he wasn't your pick, whatever it might be, this is still him calling out the US Soccer Federation. A soccer federation that's in the middle of the most important coaching search and seemingly lost two candidates right off the bat. The dream candidate of Klopp and now one of your own who is coaching a rival in Marsch. Oh, should also say if you don't like Marsch's style he has Canada playing in a 3rd place match in the very same tournament the US couldn't get out of the group. Results over style any day of the week.

I'm also fully aware it just seems like we're going to hire Steve Cherundolo at some point. Fine. I'm willing to give him a shot. It's not my favorite pick but he's one of our own, was a damn good player and at least has some European ties. That's always been the knock on the US manager. The best managers are in South America/Europe.  You need some influence there instead of the counterattack and style we played forever.

Either way, not what I wanted to hear from Jesse Marsch but he's 100% correct.
