Big Cat Came On Barstool Backstage To Tell Us What Dead &. Co. At The Sphere And Meeting John Mayer Was Like

I have been obsessed with the sphere since it began construction in 2018. I got to visit it right after it opened, to see U2 live in concert. Something I blogged about here and an experience I still think about way more often than any other concert experience I can remember having.

When Phish and The  Dead & Co. were announced as the follow-up acts to U2, excitement reached an even higher level. The clips that have trickled out since those shows began have proven why. The visuals are fucking mind-blowing. And Big Cat got to take it all in last weekend, up close in the flesh.

And to say the least, it lived up to the hype for him.

He came on our show this week to tell us all about seeing both shows Friday and Saturday night, and how totally different each one was - something I didn't realize but which is fucking awesome, The Dead never play the same set twice, each show's setlist is totally different, something that is crazy to think when you factor in that they align the visuals to line up with the music also.

He told us about the mushroom experience, and getting invited backstage via a DM slide from the one and only John Mayer. (nbd).

It was an awesome fucking interview, something we planned to do earlier in the year with Dan to just get a background on how he became a deadhead, and discuss his love for the band, but I'm so happy we held off on because Dan got to experience The Sphere, and do his best to try to convey in words just how surreal it is. You honestly can't describe it no matter how hard you try, you have to experience it for yourself.

I’m going to my first Dead show in August at The Sphere, with my little sister, (she went to Umass, obviously she’s a deadhead). And I can’t fuckin wait.
