Counterpoint: Woj, Shams And Everyone Else Spoiling NBA Draft Picks Sucks And We Need To Put An End To This Pointless Shit

So our darling Jake wrote this blog about the time Woj used different words to describe who a team was taking in a draft. It reminded me of my least favorite thing about the NBA Draft. Woj, Shams, Haynes, anyone else tipping picks. It's the worst. It's the most pointless type of 'reporting' considering we're all going to find out the news in 5 minutes anyways. Does it really matter who gets the pick first? No. The TV tells us the news like it always has.

There was something about the old way. The people who had to tune in for the show, watch the bullshit talking between picks, guessing at who was going and then the dramatics of the announcement. If you missed a pick? Guess what pal? You better be locked into that bottom line and catch the scroll at the right time. It helped shape us as people who did this for snow days, scores of late night games, games not on TV, whatever. It's how it's supposed to be!

Oh and I know people will yell 'just stay off Twitter.' It's 2024, we live in a society where we are glued to social media. Plus, I need it for, you know, my job. Pretty important stuff here. I can't just stay off Twitter. I'm simply saying we don't need Woj, Shams, etc on days like this. You want to break trades? Go ahead. We'll eat it up. But the whole tipping picks is as pointless as it gets. Not to mention it gets confusing anyways since they are 3-4 picks ahead and you're just trying to see who is going on TV. You forget what pick is actually happening. There needs to be some sort of punishment here. They have to be off their phones for a day or get fed wrong information. Something so they don't ruin our night. Some of us are complete dorks who still love the Draft and want some element of surprise.
