Master P Says If He Was Coaching The Pelicans They'd Win An NBA Title

Complex - Master P believes his hometown New Orleans Pelicans would win the NBA championship if he was on the team's coaching staff.
In a conversation with TMZ Sports, the No Limit Records boss endorsed himself as a potential coach for the Pelicans, who earlier this month were swept out of the first round of the NBA Playoffs by the Oklahoma City Thunder.
"I think we got a great team, I just think that maybe we got to wait a couple more years," he said, adding, "Y'all need to put me on the coaching staff next year, and we gon' win the whole thing."
This isn't the first time Master P has made his case to be the Pelicans' coach. It's worth noting the 54-year-old has had coaching experience at the AAU level, as well as a brief playing career in the NBA, where he appeared in exhibition games with the Charlotte Hornets and Toronto Raptors in the 1990s.
"The NBA is entertainment, I think it's time for me to be the first hip-hop coach," Miller said. "I played in the NBA, I done coached a lot of great players that are in the league. I done took my sons from being high school athletes to maybe they'll be the next future big-time pro athletes."

I'll tell you what, if Master P is the man who can somehow tap into Zion Williamson's brain, and convince him that if he trains and takes care of himself like Lebron does, and to play pissed off and with ferociousness like Joker does, then he's right. He probably can win a championship with New Orleans. Anybody who could do that probably could.

The line opened at Phoenix -6.5. There was talk of Brandon Ingram making a return from a calf strain for New Orleans but he ended up being a late scratch and the line surprisingly moved the other way to Phoenix -5.5. Hmmmm. My cousin Marco was all over it and hammered the Pelicans moneyline like a maniac. I took the 5.5.

It was a close game all game, with New Orleans actually keeping Devin Booker from going off on them as usual. Until the 4th.

Zion went fucking ballistic and took the game over in the last 7 minutes in a fashion you rarely see. He scored 12 of the Pelicans final points. He was racing end to end, blocking shots on the defensive end, then sinking mid-range jumpers on the other end. (And let me say that if Zion can develop a consistent mid-range shot, the league better watch out.) He was literally unstoppable.

The Pelicans won outright, snapping the Suns 7 game home winning streak. If Zion plays like that every night, and can stay on the court for a full season, he's unstoppable.

I know I don't know shit about basketball compared to guys who do, but to me, unless you have Eric Spoelstra, NBA coaches seem pretty useless compared to coaches and managers in the other leagues. For crying out loud Tyron Lue and Doc Rivers keep getting jobs. So I don't think it would be that wild a concept for a guy like Percy Miller to come in as an assistant coach on a staff. Especially his home town New Orleans.
