Whoa: Green Bay Is Reportedly Hiring Current Radio Host And Former Dozen Contestant Doug Gottlieb To Be Its Next Head Coach
And there it is. Doug Gottlieb, Rico's favorite basketball brain, can add Division I basketball coach to his resume. I mean why not? People are always looking for different people. Nate Oats was hired from high school, same with Bucky McMillan. You're talking about a spot where you just try to find someone to get you to a Tournament. Green Bay doesn't have some history of success. Not like he's inheriting a program that expects to be in the NCAA Tournament every single year.
Who knows how it'll work out? But I'll give Green Bay credit for at least trying something new. Sundance Wicks worked out, went back home to Wyoming. Now you're late in the calendar and gotta find someone. Gottlieb has interviewed for jobs before, including Green Bay, so people have at least entertained the idea. His first step should be sending Rico a t-shirt. Everyone knows if Rico gets a shirt he becomes a fan of your program and quite frankly seeing Rico cheer for Gottlieb is a bigger upset than Gottlieb getting a Division I job.
Not to mention he's apparently not going to stop being a radio host?
Goodman, why wouldn't you put Oklahoma State there? That's besides the point, Gottlieb being a Division I head coach while also doing sports radio is hilarious content. He should just turn it into a recruiting pitch. In the world of NIL use every advantage you have. Need him to blast refs and shit on here too. We know Gottlieb has said, well, some outrageous stuff before, better not stop now. Content never sleeps!
Anyways, congrats to fan favorite Doug on the new job.
