Power Move: Paris Hilton's Brother-In-Law Invests In Soccer Team, Plays A Game As A Sub To Live Out The Dream Of Being Called A Pro Player

This right here is the ultimate rich man dream. Based on my heavy research (read Wikipedia about the guy) he appeared to play some college soccer. Well, now he can update it and call himself a pro player. Courtney Reum is Paris Hilton's brother-in-law, which is a great name to put in a headline. People see Paris Hilton, people click - I'd like to think that goes back to our Limewire days. Nostalgia always plays.

I'm sure people will shit on this guy. But what else are you supposed to do when you're rich? You gotta find ways to entertain yourself and if that means playing on a Portuguese soccer team who is getting relegated, so be it. It's your money that's being invested. Forget signing a player who can help off the bench, give yourself a spot and let's go figure it out late. Dude is 45 years old, not like he has a lot of time left running around out there on the pitch. Gotta get yourself on the stat sheet one way or another.

I do feel like soccer is one of the few sports you can pull this off in though. It's nearly impossible to do in basketball because of limited roster space. Football? No one wants to get hit. You're really going to sub yourself in there and run a route across the middle as a receiver? Absolutely not. Hockey? Can't skate, also a pussy about getting hit. Soccer is the sweet spot where you can sub on one time for a few minutes, get some cardio in and call it a pro career. Job finished.

Respect the move strictly because this is every guy's dream. We all wanted to be pro athletes, it all just depends when we realize we won't make it as a pro. But if you can live out that dream by simply having enough money to invest in a random ass club? So be it. You're on the Wikipedia roster, that's good enough.
