Teams Were Reportedly Hesitant To Draft Spencer Rattler Because of How He Acted on 'QB1' When He Was in High School

NFL teams look through anything and everything when evaluating players throughout the Draft process, but I don't ever remember hearing about a player's portrayal of himself on a TV show while he was in high school being a reason for a slide.

I'm fascinated by this story because QB1 is one of my all-time favorite shows. And while it definitely seems a little bit out there to judge Rattler based on a show made when he was 17 years old, he didn't exactly paint himself in a great light on the program.

If teams are solely judging Rattler based on clips from six years ago, that's a little bit insane. But I'd imagine the way he acts on the show may have come through a little bit in interviews all these years later for teams to still be concerned about it. I would be shocked if NFL teams think he's a great quarterback and leader now, but they're just still really hung up on how he behaved in high school.

Either way, shoutout to QB1. If you haven't seen it, there are four seasons of great content with Rattler, Jake Fromm, Justin Fields, Anthony Richardson and Bryce Young.

UPDATE: As I was blogging this, Rattler was drafted 150th overall by the New Orleans Saints. He may have ended up in the perfect place after all.
