You Can't Get Mad About Getting Hit In The Nuts If You're Not Wearing A Cup

It's called a cup check for a reason, people. Will Cuylle is out here making sure that everybody is just wearing the proper equipment and protection. The last thing he'd ever want to see is a player go down with an injury that could have been easily avoidable with the proper equipment.

You wear a helmet for a reason. You wear gloves for a reason. You wear shinguards for a reason. Would Tom Wilson get upset with Will Cuylle if he drilled him in the shin with a shot while not wearing his shinguards? Of course not. So if he's going to get hit in the cock and balls without wearing a cup? Well that's on him.

I've made this point before and I'll make it again--there ain't nothing wrong with lighting a dude up with a cup check if he's not wearing one. HOWEVER, if you go for a bag tap and the guy does happen to be wearing a cup? 5 minute major and the other guy should be able to whack you as hard as humanly possible in the sack on your way to the box. There needs to be that risk factor added to the cup check to make sure it doesn't get too out of hand.
