Kim Kardashian Finally Got The Diss Track She Deserves From Taylor Swift (Lyric Breakdown)

When this song "thanK you aIMee" dropped at 2am last night and it was clear that Dave Portnoy had already gone to bed, I knew we'd get something exactly like this first thing in the morning. At long last, Taylor Swift has decided she's stopped pussy footing around when it comes to Kim Kardashian. We're finally getting the FUCK YOU, KIM anthem that she's had coming for her for years, and it was well worth the wait.

I'm breaking down the whole album's lyrics in another blog but I wanted to single this one out as it is, truly the perfect diss track. Here are the lyric highlights:

Right off the bat, we hear "spray tanned" and think Kim. We're also a little confused at this point though, with all the nostalgia references making it seem like Taylor wrote this song about a high school bully. And to that I say....well, yes!

And I can't forgive the way you made me feel
Screamed "Fuck you, Aimee" to the night sky, as the blood was gushin'
But I can't forget the way you made me heal

SCREAMED FUCK YOU TO THE NIGHT SKY. That's the energy we need to keep. We never, ever forget how someone made us feel….but then in a shocking twist, we are also seeing that this SHIT behavior has also helped her heal. 

And it wasn't a fair fight, or a clean kill
Each time that Aimee stomped across my gravе
And then she wrote hеadlines
In the local paper, laughing at each baby step I'd take

Now we're pretty convinced this is about Kim (if it wasn't obvious already.) We know some podunk idiot from back home isn't writing headlines about anybody. That's allllllll Kimmy.

This was a huge verse. People love to say shit about how Taylor wouldn't have gone through the same kind of rebirth/rebrand without the Kim/Kanye debacle and ultimately, they aren't wrong. Did it need to happen this way? No. But as usual, Taylor made lemonade out of lemons and has grown enough to acknowledge the positives that have come out of the MASSIVE negative.

KILLSHOT, KILLSHOT, KILLSHOT. BTW, North West is a massive Swiftie. LOVES Taylor. Always singing her on Tiktok, seemingly knows nothing about how her own mother was the woman who tried (and failed) to take down Taylor Swift. This is chef's kiss, no notes, perfection. The ultimate revenge.

And we end it with a THANK YOU, AIMEE. Wow. This is the Taylor equivalent of, "Thanks Bitch!" I'm on top, looking down on your bullshit, and I'm thanking you for being so terrible that I actually had to learn and grow from it. Genius.

I think top to bottom, this song is perfect. It's not too cutting, it has the right level of snark and revenge, but also the biggest dig of all - reminding her (Kim) that she created this. This was all her fault. Taylor's on top of the world, and Kim played a part in it, despite trying to drag her down. Her kids are coming home singing Taylor. Everyone loves Taylor. Kim is in the doghouse for LIFE. Time to shred up that Skims proposal girl, it's not going to happen. Stick to begging all of Taylor's best friends to do it. They'll gladly cash your checks and laugh all the way to the bank. As for Taylor? She's all set.
