It's Pretty Sad That Scott Drew's Gifts For Turning Down The Kentucky Job Were Cupcakes From Chip Gaines And A Restaurant Booth Named After Him

We know what happened. Scott Drew turned down the Kentucky job. Many are saying while he's a great coach, he wouldn't have been able to handle everything that comes along with the UK job. I now believe that as I'm firmly a Pope guy. Not sure how Drew's personality would have fit at a job where you are the talk of the state and the college basketball world at all times. Whatever, we're Pope guys now. We got our guy and there's no point in trying to argue for or against Scott Drew.

No, this blog is about what he received as gifts for turning down the greatest job in the world. First, that dork and personal enemy of mine Chip Gaines chimed in. After threatening to kiss moms all across the Commonwealth, he followed it up with cupcakes.

Don't get me wrong cupcakes are delicious. But if these guys are close friends and Chip Gaines truly loves Baylor basketball, wouldn't you, you know? Donate a million to the NIL or just build Drew a house. That's literally what your job is, at least whenever I see you on TV. Build him an extension or something nice. Instead he got cupcakes that wouldn't last 30 seconds in either of the Barstool offices. A whopping like $14 gift for staying at Baylor. Makes you wonder if Drew is even beloved and what the relationship truly is.

Then there's the story that took Twitter over a day. The moment that Drew posted this picture:

He posted this as reports were he was in Kentucky or his family was in Kentucky. People ended up investigating the picture and finding out the TV wasn't adding up to the date based on the Family Feud episode. Kentucky fans flooded the restaurant with 5-star reviews (we're good people) and some allegedly called the place to talk to Scott Drew.

Naturally the place dedicated the booth to Drew with a plaque that makes Allen Iverson's statue look perfect.

Scott's Spot was right there. This is basically like one of those employee of the month plaques you see at a coffee house or something like that. People are driving just to take pictures like that one! That's all there is to do in Waco I guess. I'm not going to sit here and talk about Waco besides what I've heard.

But this is what you get for turning down the best job in the world? Some cupcakes and a plaque. I have no choice but to think Drew wouldn't have been able to handle the Kentucky job. At least now I have a reason to despise Chip Gaines through this saga.
