The UFC Are Bringing Back Custom Shorts For UFC 300

Great news for UFC 300 this weekend - the UFC are bringing back custom shorts for AT LEAST four of the fighters on Saturday night's main card! I've been pushing for stuff like this forever, as I think something as simple as personalized fight kits could greatly contribute to a fighter's identity/brand. Think about how much fans loved Bryce Mitchell's camo shorts, or even more recently - Sean O'Malley's pink shorts....

Imagine Chuck Liddell never had the iceman shorts?! Tito Ortiz never had the fire shorts?! Anderson Silva without the yellow?! It's just weird to think about. In my eyes - the more customization, the better!

This weekend, Max Holloway will finally get his wish, with floral print shorts for Hawaii....

….as well as the stars and stripes on Justin Gaethje's shorts, dragonprint on Weili Zhang's kit, and an Aztec design for Alex Pereira….

They're all pretty awesome looking….except Gaethje's pair. Nothing against the stars and stripes (I love America brother), but those are just a little too plain for me. You can barely tell they have a custom design on em. Still - I love this, and hope we just get more and more of it in the future. Hell, it may even be a little branding incentive for fighters to sign with the UFC over PFL/Bellator/ONE if they went all in on the customization.

I'll be out in Vegas on Friday/Saturday and hopefully pitch more of this to Dana White while I'm there. Sean Strickland could be next….

P.S. We interviewed UFC Heavyweight Champ Tom Aspinall this week and broke down some of the UFC 300 card with him (among a ton of other things) so check that out now….
