Playing Hard To Get: Dan Hurley Seems To Be Turning Down The Kentucky Job Because He Can't Afford A Divorce, Wants To Keeps His Wife Happy

I know we're in a little game of cat and mouse here, Dan. Let me be clear, your option 1 for me and all of Kentucky. Not Billy Donovan, not Jay Wright, not John Calipari, not Brad Stevens. We want you, Dan. This is why we need a public conversation with Andrea. You can say you don't want a divorce and you're just starting to make money, what if we can give you more money? How does $80 million over 7 years sound?

Obviously it's a long shot, but so is true for that guy who married Sydney Sweeney. We won't even care if you cheat on us as long as you win. You name the price. You want to own Keeneland? We can make that happen, I think. You want some Tolly Ho and Bourbon n Toulouse? I'll pay and save you money. Clearly this is all part of the joke for Hurley. He also says this:

You can win 3 in a row Dan! Just do it with a different shade of blue. You've already accomplished everything at UConn. You brought them back to the Big East, you revived the program, you solidified the 25-year run. Now come on over to another place. I promise Lexington, Kentucky is more beautiful than Storrs, Connecticut. There are direct flights back to New Jersey. Plus, you keep talking about how you're still behind your dad in the coaching ranks. Win a title at Kentucky and you hop him, in fact I'll lead the charge that you're better than Bob and Bobby. I'll debate changing my name, don't want to be associated with the lesser Hurley's if it happens.

I don't care if it's a .001% chance, I'm holding out hope that Dan Hurley is at Kentucky. He can say no but until a new contract is signed, announced and printed we'll continue the flirting process. Way more unrealistic marriages have happened. I only see this as him deferring to his wife to make a decision. Hey, we've all been there. But bring Andrea to Lexington once and let her see it in person before you fully commit.

Goddamnit, it's just going to be Scott Drew isn't it? Nothing against Scott Drew, I just want Dan Hurley. Now, time to work on finding Andrea's number and just having a little talk since he's deferring to her.

Step 1 - win over Andrea.

Step 2 - get Hurley.

Step 3 - win titles again.

Step 4 - Ignore all of this and try to find a way to hate the Hurley's when it's Scott Drew.

At least give us some secrets or something since the Kentucky job is going to make Hurley extremely rich one way or another. We deserve that.
