MLB Umpires *Handshake Emoji* NFL Referees. Neither Group Knows What A Catch Is!

No one in any sport knows what a catch is, no one. It's pretty obvious when you see the play that happened yesterday when Jonah Heim smoked this ball right to José Cabellero who seemed to catch the ball....until he didn't. He dropped it. Say it was on the transfer if you want but I will go to my grave saying that isn't a catch. It simply isn't! He dropped it. That ball touched his glove and was already falling out, how can you call that a catch?

Well it's okay, because MLB has review so clearly they will let you review it and get the call right to overturn it, right? WRONG. Not a reviewable play. What is the point of having review if you can't get calls right? Just make it all reviewable, isn't the point of review to absolutely make sure the play is called correctly? You'd think you would want to use it on any play you think is close. Instead we get dumb calls like this where it's clearly the wrong call and the umps just stand there scratching their dicks saying "Yeah idk".

You have the technology so why not use it to make sure the calls are right? Absolutely mind bottling call here. What's a catch? Did he have 2 feet in? Make a football move? Was the ball moving? We don't know at all. I don't know how you can look me in the eyes and tell me he caught that ball and held onto it long enough to call that an out. Just makes 0 sense.

This is the second time the Rangers have been dicked over by an awful non-reviewable call as well this season, they got screwed vs the Cubs as well. It's very clear that no one in any sport knows exactly what a catch is. I just want to live in a world where calls are made correctly and an umpire can talk to his guys and say "hey that was clearly not a catch" and call it a day. Maybe one day, but until then we'll continue to have umps ruining the game with calls that make 0 sense, likely at Jonah Heim's expense.
