The Kim Mulkey Washington Post Hit Piece Is Out And Surprise, It's A Nothingburger

Wake up babe, new Washington Post hit piece just dropped! There's been a lot of anticipation of the impending hit piece on LSU's women's coach Kim Mulkey. John Rich did a great preview of it before it was out:

And in true WaPo fashion, they released it a few hours before LSU's huge matchup with 2 seed UCLA tips off in about 15 minutes from now at 1 PM EST. You don't have to like Kim Mulkey, but working on a story for two years and you contact LSU and Mulkey to answer over a dozen questions with a limited response time as they get ready for the tournament is as scummy as it gets. And surprise, the guy who wrote the article makes her seem like she's the reincarnation of the Devil:

I don't think I can put it here because it's hidden behind a typical bullshit paywall, but let me save you some time. The whole article is written about how Kim Mulkey was raised in rural Louisiana, became estranged from her father and sister, and now basically raises hell on women's basketball and her players. There was virtually nothing new in the article, but just painted Mulkey as what we already knew: certainly a personality of a head coach for better and worse.

But that's unfortunately the state of journalism we live in today. Wait until the most opportune time for clicks, publish it when the eyes are brightest on your subject, and underdeliver heavily on what many people were assuming to be a death punch. That's the name of the game.

Turns out Mulkey didn't even know it was coming out either:

Classic.

P.S. People don't talk about how Mulkey was a PURE hooper back in her day:
