Lead From The Front: Dan Hurley Brought Analytics And Facts To Prove How Dumb The Committee Is For Only Having Three Big East Teams In

This is what you want to see if you're in the Big East. Dan Hurley has become the face of the conference with UConn winning a title and now being the No. 1 overall seed. Pitino is the legend, but Hurley is the current face. It's one thing to have English and Pitino bitch about being left out, it's another when a coach of the No. 1 team brings facts and analytics to the table. Even more so when he's wearing a special St. Patrick's Day UConn hat. That's how you know Hurley means business.

And again, he's right. There's nothing that makes sense with the committee. They say nonconference matters. Okay, Providence (who I think is the 3rd team of the 3 left out) beat Wisconsin. They say analytics matter, okay the Big East is rated 2nd on KenPom. They say not having bad losses matter, okay then how do you even have 68 teams in the field? All of these teams are higher than Virginia in everything. That's what makes no sense.

There needs to be something clear because the committee just does what they want. They don't look at teams in groups. They scrub the seeds and will compare one on one. You gotta be clear about what the hell you're looking at and what matters. Pitt was one of the first four teams out, they lost at home to Missouri! Their two best nonconference wins were at West Virginia and Oregon State on a neutral! Why the fuck were they under consideration but not St. John's?

All I know is we're going to see an incredible fuck you from the Big East next year. They might refuse to schedule anyone ranked in the top-300 and try to win by 70. They are never going to sub out and run up scores which helps increase your NET ranking. We know the Big East is full of guys who aren't afraid of shit. It's going to be incredible to watch next year and their insane fanbases are only going to be more aggressive on Twitter.

I still don't know how the Big East only got three in. There's nothing that I can look at - and I nerd out when it comes to this shit - that makes sense. Virginia is the worst inclusion in the Tournament that I can ever remember. The seedings don't make sense, their reasonings all over TV make even less sense. And can we stop thanking the committee like they sacrificed their lives for this? They are 12 ADs who spent a week watching basketball and doing a terrible job.

But now that Hurley brought facts and analytics to the table? Now you're all in big, big trouble.
