Due To The Most Incriminating Photo of All Time, an Irish Mom Loses Out on $800k of Disability Money

NY Post - A woman in Ireland lost a more than $800,000 in an injury lawsuit stemming from a car crash after photos showed her launching a Christmas tree during a post-holiday competition – and winning the event.

Kamila Grabska, 36, sued an insurance agency in the country, RSA Insurance, after a 2017 car crash she claimed caused her debilitating neck and back pain that prevented her from holding down a job for five years, the Irish Independent reported.

The car accident was the result of someone hitting Grabska’s car from the rear, and allegedly left her unable to carry her young children or complete household chores.

She quit her job shortly after, received disability payments and argued that her previous and future lost income totaled more than $500,000, according to the Telegraph.

Newspaper reports, however, soon surfaced of Grabska competing in a Christmas tree-throwing event on Jan. 8, 2018, nearly a year after the accident supposedly left her with “disabling” pain.” The Irish High Court reviewed a photo of Grabska launching a tree, which the judge, Carmel Stewart, described as a “very graphic picture,” according to the Telegraph.

You can't be leaving this type of paper trail when you're suing an Irish insurance company for $800,000 in an injury lawsuit. That's sloppy work from Kamila. You have to be more buttoned up than that. If you claim to have been suffering from debilitating neck and back pain, pain so bad that you're unable to carry your children and unable to hold down a job for 5 YEARS, you just can't have what's arguably (and I don't say this lightly) the most incriminating photo in the history of photos out there on the internet.

There aren't many things that crack me up more than incriminating evidence. To watch somebody be caught so incredibly red-handed to the point where everything they've been working towards comes crumbling down in the blink of an eye, and there's absolutely nothing they can do to explain away the evidence. That's just good content. I would have paid real money to be a fly on the wall in the moment this evidence was presented to Kamila. I'm not sure if this photo was presented in court, in a meeting room somewhere, or if she fielded a phone call from a lawyer asking her to explain herself hurling a Christmas tree through the air just one-year following the accident that allegedly left her immobilized for half-a-decade. As Bologna Sandwich (@BolognaBudz) of X.com astutely pointed out, this might be the most incriminating photo/video that's surfaced since Laremy Tunsil was drafted.

But in the end, Laremy Tunsil still got paid. He got paid millions. Laremy is having a well-above average NFL career. Kamila on the other hand is royally fucked. Unless there's way more money to be made in Irish Christmas Tree throwing than I realize, her whole life trajectory has just taken a massive downturn.

All because of one photo. All because Kamila Grabska couldn't help herself from establishing her dominance in a 2018 tree throwing contest. She went from being a near millionaire, to having NOTHING. She went from almost retiring to having to apply for a job at the nearest Best Buy where she'll work for the next 30 years to just to make ends meet. That's gotta be tough to swallow. But to Kamila's credit, as red-handed as she was caught, she's sticking to her guns. She refuses to admit any wrongdoing.

“It is a very large, natural Christmas tree and it is being thrown by her in a very agile movement. I’m afraid I cannot but conclude the claims were entirely exaggerated. On that basis, I propose to dismiss the claim,” the judge said, according to the Irish Independent.

Grabska denied that she faked her injuries while in court, saying she was “trying to live a normal life,” according to the Telegraph.

What the hell, RSA Insurance? Kamila is just trying to live her life. Just because she can't carry her 20-pound child up the stairs, and is unable to sit upright at a desk for 8 hours day, does that really mean she can't throw heavy trees across a field over Christmas break?

Alight, yeah, I don't think that argument is going to hold up in court. It would be one thing if she had just attempted to throw the tree. But to win the entire competition, and have this photo of you looking like the incredible She-Hulk as you throw a Virginia Pine further than anybody thought womanly possible… that's not going to get you $800k in Irish disability money. You're might get a really cool, "2018 Woman's Christmas Tree Throwing Champion" plaque out of it. But that's not going to pay the bills. But at least that picture lives forever.
