Post Malone Continues To Tease Our Dicks With Country Collabs, This Time Dropping One With Luke Combs That Sounds Unbelievable

Fox News - Post Malone has expanded his musical repertoire to include a bit of southern charm.

Fresh off his acoustic performance of "America the Beautiful" at the Super Bowl, the rapper surprised the world once again with a small snippet of an upcoming country track.

Malone teased his new country hit with Luke Combs on social media.

The clip posted by Malone was a short one with minimal details about the song revealed.

Combs does not appear in the video, but Malone tagged the country star in the caption alongside a beer emoji.

The video shows Malone dancing and mouthing the words of the new track.

Arite here's the deal. Post Malone is probably the #1 guy in the music business that I want to be friends with right now. Not because he's been on a non-stop rocket ship the past umodd years now continuing to just get bigger and bigger and bigger. No. Because he seems like the genuinely coolest guy in a land full of narcissists and douchebags. AKA Hollywood. AKA Madison Avenue. AKA Nashville (the record label part). Etc, etc, etc.

He's probably the biggest example of "don't judge a book by it's cover" of my lifetime.

He looks like a crazy person, ex con, but from all accounts- meaning every thing I've read about him, or personal accounts of people I know who've met or hung out with him, he's the coolest guy on the planet.

He's a legit football fan, AND he built himself a compound (they won't call it a doomsday bunker but its a doomsday bunker) out in the middle of nowhere Utah where he spends his free time.

ALL OF THAT SAID...

Enough is enough Post Malone.

Quit dick-teasing us all with this shit.

This all started back when Post was on a tear dropping his covers of everything from Pearl Jam's "Better Man"

to Brad Paisley's "I'm Gonna Miss Her"

Howard Stern had him on in June 2022 and asked him point blank if he was going to give his fans a country album, to which Malone responded: “To be honest, there’s nothing stopping me from taking a camera or setting up in my studio in Utah and just recording a country album and me just putting it on f–king YouTube,” Malone said. “I’m allowed to do that… I split my time between a lot of different things because I am happily obligated to do concerts and show love to my fans … and then I’m happily obligated to write music and make beats by myself, and I’m happily obligated to, you know, take care of my family. So, it’s a lot of time, and it’s about finding that space to allot that time. If I get another year to myself, maybe I’ll make a fucking country album.”

Post made his first Country Airplay chart appearance last year on a “duet” version of Joe Diffie’s “Pickup Man”, which debuted at #54 just after he teamed up with Morgan Wallen and Hardy to play the song at the 2023 CMA Awards; the track will appear on HARDY’s upcoming Hixtape Vol. 3: Difftape, due out on March 29.

He hit it big with super up-and-comer (and Vermont native) Noah Kahan, jumping on his remix of "Dial Drunk"

(A folk song technically, but still showing Malone's expansive repertoire and versatility.

In between all of that Malone has randomly appeared and performed on stage with Blake Shelton, Little Big Town and Darius Rucker and he has been pictured in the studio or in writing rooms with Paisley and Combs.

He's also extremely close with Billy Strings.

Which bought him even more cred with the hardcore "country" community.

What really sealed the deal for him I think though was his Tiny Desk performance on NPR late last year. Which he absolutely blew people away in.

Since then it's been kind of mum. Until he dropped this Luke Combs teaser over the weekend.

Billboard - Combs posted a comment on the snippet, matching Posty’s beer emoji and adding a fire one, while Malone’s label, Republic Records, commented, “LFG [cowboy emoji]” and Republic’s relaunched Mercury Records added, “in your country era fs.” Over Super Bowl weekend, Combs posted a pic with Malone and Peyton Manning.

Malone has been dipping his toe into country lately, including making his first Country Airplay chart appearance last year on a “duet” version of Joe Diffie’s “Pickup Man”, which debuted at No. 54 just after Posty teamed up with Morgan Wallen and HARDY to play the song at the 2023 CMA Awards; the track will appear on HARDY’s upcoming Hixtape Vol. 3: Difftape, due out on March 29.

Speaking to Access Hollywood at the time, Malone teased his own country music project when asked if he has a country album in the works. “I think so… yes,” he said.

The thing I don't understand is the feedback on twitter and social media ripping Malone for, and begging him not to make his entire album sound "pop" or "pop country". Which a lot of people make synonymous with today's country radio.

What do you expect?

The guy is a pop superstar. His first attempt at dipping his toe in the water outside his genre he's going to do just that. Dip his toe in a little. Not do a cannonball into the deep end.

If he did come out of (nowhere) the gate with a classic red dirt country song he'd lose the die hard country fans for being inauthentic, and he'd lose his own hardcore fans who'd wonder, "what the fuck is this?"

I think he's playing things perfectly.

My prediction is that we will get a full single and official announcement of this country album to coincide on or around April 28 when Malone takes the stage at the Stagecoach Festival, which will also feature sets from headliners Morgan Wallen, Miranda Lambert and Eric Church, as well as Jelly Roll, Dwight Yoakam, Willie Nelson & Family, Leon Bridges, Ernest, HARDY, Bailey Zimmerman and many more.
