Madame Web Debuts To 23% On Rotten Tomatoes And Some Are Calling It "One Of The Worst Movies Ever Made"

If you've been following the lead-up to the release of 'Madame Web' at all, you probably know that at no point did ANYONE expect it to be even remotely good. Everything about it (aside from Sydney Sweeney and Dakota Johnson) looked and sounded horrendous from the very first teasers/posters/Ocean Spray bottle leaks, and every new snippet or news item about the movie just made it seem worse. Pair that with the fact that Sony was the studio in charge of it, and I promise you - nobody had any faith in this movie.

Hell, the star of the damn thing just admitted the filming process was "psychotic" and that she "didn't know if it would be good at all" last week....

....and the clip they released from the movie last night was more of the same - pretty cringeworthy and flat-out bad on every level....

Somehow, though, it seems that Madame Web still didn't reach our incredibly low expectations.

Screeners were held this week, and the social embargo just lifted - so here's what some of the reviews are saying….

It appears that at best, it's so-bad-its-good in a laughable way, like 'The Room' or Halle Berry's 'Catwoman'. At worst, it's the one of the worst movies ever made - regardless of genre.

I assume it actually falls somewhere between those two extremes, but I sure as hell ain't spending my time/money to see it in theaters to find out. Maybe I'll give it a shot on 3Chi when it drops on streaming in a month, if people are still talking about how horrible it was, but I just can't put myself through another bad superhero movie in theaters.

I saw 'Venom: Let There Be Carnage' with the LCB boys on opening night - WITH DIRECTOR ANDY SERKIS IN THE THEATER TO HYPE UP THE DIE HARD FANS - and still look back at that as one of the worst movies I ever saw in theaters. Just a dreadful experience to sit through that piece of shit. KenJac and I ran actually into Serkis on the way out and he said "What did you think?!" and we both had to hit him with the fakest "Loved it!" of all time. I think Serkis saw right through us, too, but I digress.

I'm not rooting against Sony and their idiotic not-really-connected-to-the-MCU-but-kinda-connected-to-the-MCU Spider-Verse, but I'm sick of their bullshit at this point. Enough of these blasphemous Spider-related movies to fulfill your quantity over quality Spider-rights contract. Either start making good movies with Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man again or get the fuck out of the comic book movie business.

Anyway, here's Sydney Sweeney and Dakota Johnson at the premiere….
