Sixers Trade For Buddy Hield And Are Refusing To Give Up On The Season

Yes sir, Woj! Bomb away! You know that certified 3-point shooter the Sixers have needed since Seth Curry and JJ Reddick graced this team with 2nd-round exits? BAM! Just in time for another early playoff exit if Joel Embiid is out and/or has the conditioning of a Meek Phil after being out until that time.

I actually don't hate it. It's a winning trade for the Sixers, on paper at least. Hield's contact is expiring but a few 2nd rounders and very bench players Morris and Furkan for him is a W. Buddy's numbers kinda stink this season compared to his past years and his overall capability.

Politically speaking, I see you Daryl Morey. I see you. The GM can spin this trade any number of ways to look good. Face it, the Sixers are in a WEIRD spot with Embiid's injury. Do they go all-in and make push for this year? You can't after the MVP's questionable future to return, but then again you can't exactly bail on the success they've had under Nick Nurse this season. Conversely, if things go real south then Hield's contract is done along with a zillion other dollars so the Sixers can refresh and rebuild for 2025 and a healthy Embiid. We shall see.

The day is FAR from over. It could get somewhat nuts. Morey was working into the night last evening before shit hit the fan, too.

Oh and Daniel House is gone. Let's see where this goes.

Cue it.
