Joel Embiid To Officially Undergo Knee Surgery And Will Be Out Anywhere From A Few Weeks Until The End Of Time

Well that's certainly not good. Really, really, really not good. Even though there's a chance Embiid returns this season? Maybe?

Great ambiguous messaging on the timeline, media! Per usual, we must search deeper into the depths of Twitter/X/Life for answers outside of the Sixers PR team and/or Embiid's agent. And we found a good mark: Dr. Evan Jeffries, DPT - I have no idea if this guy is a real doctor or is a pure quack and went to Hollywood Upstairs Medical College with Dr. Nick Rivera, but we are going to trust him. Why? There is no other option. Probably.

OK then. 4-6 weeks is manageable. But obviously the Big Man needs to think long term, so it wouldn't surprise anyone if he's getting the full repair and is out through at least the regular season. I guess the only silver lining is the NBA playoffs go on for 909 straight months there's a little hope of a return if the Sixers try to make it past the second round for once. The worst part about it all, besides the fact something to this effect happens every damn season to this franchise, is this full injury most likely completely avoidable.

Awesome. Awesome to the max.

Get well soon, MVP. Cue it. Or whatever.
