WATCH: Dude From New Mexico State Delivers A Brutal Sucker Punch Right To The Face Of A Liberty Player, Directly In Front Of The Ref

Foul! I don't care that the Liberty player here took a little cheap shot with a push, you don't retaliate with a goddamn sucker punch to the grill. You gotta by sly, you get them with a knee or a little shot to the back on a post up. This was in broad daylight too. Not like he was away from a ref or in a scrum, just wound up and punched him straight in the face as they were the only two people around a ref staring at him. I can't believe they even had to review it and would have loved to hear that sort of conversation after the replay.

The whole New Mexico State program is bizarre to me. Chris Jans had it rolling, they beat UConn in the Tournament thanks to Teddy Buckets and then this happened last year:

That whole coaching staff was fired (no duh). Here's the response from Jason Hooten on the sucker punch last night:

Look at that. Someone stepping up and actually showing accountability. Pretty sure that's something that should be talked about more. Hey, he didn't punch a dude in the face. He's just a coach. But when you're trying to stop a program from being a complete and utter shitshow, you take accountability. Fuck, it's a Friday, let's not talk that.

Back to sucker punches.

All I know is if I ever got caught with a sucker punch like that bring out the stretcher. I'm not trying to be a hero here. I'm milking that no matter if I get caught like I'm Rudy Tomjanovich or if it's barely contact. Take one for the team, get a couple free throws and the ball and then look like a hero when you check back in. Sounds like a plan until Liberty lost in OT. But, hey, it's a plan.

I don't know man, seems pretty simple not to throw a sucker punch at a man's face.
