OH MY GOD, THE ENTIRE RADIO STAFF HAS RESIGNED!!!

Radio Ink- In July 2023, Bill Wolfenbarger’s Ellensburg Radio Broadcasting purchased KXLE-AM and FM. During the last three days of the year, the staff of both Washington state signals tendered their resignations, following the lead of longtime General Manager Brad Tacher.

Tacher, who had been with KXLE-AM for nearly three decades, announced his departure on December 29, telling the Ellensburg Daily Record, “It was time for me to go. It was an awesome run, but there are big changes in the industry locally and nationally, and I’m not ready to tackle them in this stage of life.” Tacher’s notice was followed by the resignation of his wife and office manager, Patti Tacher, and three part-time staff members, including Tacher’s son.

Damn, as a longtime listener of KXLE, I am absolutely shocked by this news. I guess I shouldn't be since these resignations happened a month ago and were essentially a wife and her son following the patriarch of the family/radio station out the door along with a couple of other part-timers.  Nonetheless, I don't blame them since any station that lists out the owner's name like Bill Wolfenbarger’s Ellensburg Radio Broadcasting is sus in my mind.

Admittedly I wouldn't blog something like this at Barstool if it didn't have a SPORTS connection. But the radio industry has suddenly become the hottest topic around these parts, which has also provided plenty of banter online and pageviews for the blog. I most certainly didn't have the spoken and written word being so big over the last week on my BINGO card. I also can't believe BINGO cards are still being referenced since they are much more dated than either of those mediums, so what do I know?

Anyway, best of luck to the Tacher family on their future endeavors. Because as the old saying goes, stand for something or fall for anything.
