Kayshon Boutte Arrested For Allegedly Placing Over 8900 Illegal Bets, Including At Least 6 On LSU Games He Participated In

Some huge news out of Louisiana, as Kayshon Boutte seems to have found himself in some serious trouble.

Kayshon was a key member of the 2022 LSU football team, where he played in 11 games for the Tigers and caught 48 passes for 538 yards and 2 TDs.

Obviously, betting on games you're involved in is a federal crime, although it would be difficult to point shave as a WR (not impossible of course). Now, if he was betting under on his own props? That would not be "point shaving" but would still be the same concept. Maybe we call it "prop shaving?"

It is being reported that Boutte placed 8900 bets in just 13 months. That is a massive amount, averaging over 22 a day (sure, you could put these up on a CFB Saturday, but on a random Tuesday in October? Those are wild numbers). It has not been detailed what kind of bets Boutte was placing, but I'd assume any type of wager that existed, Boutte was participating in it.

Boutte wagered "several hundred thousand dollars," which sounds crazy, but with 8900 bets it's not that insane. Obviously, if he lost several hundred thousand dollars that would be different, but let's say he averaged $100 on those 8900 bets, he would've wagered $890,000 in 13 months.

Boutte has been arrested. He spent this NFL season with the Patriots, where he caught 2 passes. His NFL career is the least of his concerns.
