Lane Kiffin Says Ohio State Has Spent $13 Million In The Transfer Portal And That Seems Egregiously Low

I don't know if this was a complaint about Ohio State hand picking the top players out of the portal like they had first dibs at the apple orchard before the rest of the public gets to enter, or if this was a direct shot at the Ole Miss collectives for not doing their part in bringing top end talent to Oxford. But either way, if you're broke, just say it, Lane! I have no problem with the tweet. What I do have a problem with is the report that the haul the Buckeyes have brought in over the last couple weeks has only cost us $13,000,000. Ummmmm... is that 13 million per player? Or 13 million for the lot? Because if the crew that Ryan Day and the boys have gone shopping for only cost a hair over ten mil, the rest of these schools need to start checking under their couches for some more coins. I mean, Ohio State literally has gotten anyone and everyone they wanted.

How does that saying go again....?

"First they came for the #7 overall player available in the portal...."

"Then they came for the #1 Center in the portal....."

"Then they came for the #1 running back in the portal….."

"Then they came for the #1 Safety in the portal……"

"Then they came for the #1 QB in the portal……."

"And then they stopped fucking coming to the portal because they had the most talented roster in college football"

Guys, all Ohio State brings back next year is 9 starters from their elite defense and added an All-American safety from Alabama. I truly do not see how other teams score a point next year, let alone get a first down. And then add in that our quarterback room now literally has more stars than the entire Milky Way galaxy, and you can at least guarantee our QB play will be better than…….Kyle McCord. The fact of the matter is that last year's team was one average quarterback away from beating Michigan and walking to the confetti celebration in Texas. So the fact that our room now has probably 5 QBs better than McCord bodes well for our chances this year.

**And don't get me wrong, being Paper Champs doesn't mean anything to me. Neither does being Off-Season Champs. Michigan has still beaten us 3x in a row, and they're reigning National Champions on the field. So like I said yesterday, there is literally NOTHING Ryan can do between now and Saturday, November 30th 2024 that will get me to compliment him. Beat Michigan and win a National Title or get fired. But taking every single talented player out of the portal is a pretty good start to doing those things.
